November 26: Initial appointment
Three hours of appointments and my brain is on OVERLOAD! Wow! All I can say is Mayo is AMAZING! The care and compassion during those three hours was second to none. I was able to get a more solid understanding of my diagnosis and was encouraged to hear that they will be doing more testing in the upcoming appointments to dig even deeper. Things I know: 1. I have grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma 2. The stage will be determined after additional testing 3. Lots of decisions will be coming in about a week and half following appointments tomorrow, Friday, and Monday prior to my full team meeting on the 9th. Woah! 4. Chemo is the most likely start to the process prior to surgery All in all, it was a good appointment and we are finally getting into the weeds of it all. One of the best things I was able to do today was sign up for my first breast cancer research study!
